Many well-meaning animal rescues are made unnecessarily.
If you’ve found a wild animal that you believe may be injured or orphaned, please see our Resources page to determine the best course of action.
I want to bring an animal to Shalom Wildlife Hospital. What do I need to know?
If you have a small wild animal (under 10 pounds) that you believe needs veterinary and/or rehabilitative care, we are open for intakes weekdays from 8 AM to 6 PM and weekends from 9 AM to 5 PM. Please note that we do not accept rattlesnakes.
If you would like to drop an animal off after hours, our partners at Veterinary Emergency Group in Encinitas will accept an intake overnight and we’ll arrange for a transfer the next day. Otherwise, you can the patient in a quiet, cool (not cold), dark space overnight. If you choose to keep an animal in your home before bringing it in for care, please keep it away from children and domestic animals.

Note that Shalom WIldlife Hospital only accepts wild animals that weigh less than 10 pounds, and we do not accept rattlesnakes.
